EU4Health in summary
The EU’s largest health program in financial terms. It is structured into four strands of action and one cross-cutting strand:
- Strand 1: Crisis preparedness
- Strand 2: Health promotion and disease prevention
- Strand 3: Health systems and healthcare workforce
- Strand 4: Digital transformation
- Cross-cutting strand: Cancer
Target Audience
Beneficiaries vary according to the type of call procedure:
- Action Grant: Open to all types of legal entities (including public administrations, clusters, R&D organizations, universities, industry, end-users, and civil society representatives).
- Joint Action: Nominated Member State health authorities.
- Direct Grant: Nominated Member State health authorities.
- Public Procurement: Open to all types of legal entities (including public administrations, clusters, R&D organizations, universities, industry, end-users, and civil society actors).
Project Types
Projects aimed at research, innovation, and policy-making activities aligned with the thematic strands.
Funding conditions
Variable budget and co-financing rates, depending on the type of procedure:
- Action Grant: up to 60% of eligible costs, or up to 80% in cases of exceptional utility.
- Joint Action: up to 60% of eligible costs, or up to 80% in cases of exceptional utility.
- Direct Grant: up to 60% of eligible costs, or up to 80% in cases of exceptional utility.
- Public Procurement: indicative budget defined in the service contract.
