What is the Knowledge Center?
The Knowledge Center – Health Business Portugal (HBP) is a knowledge platform on the health ecosystem in Portugal, designed to facilitate access to relevant information and support users in identifying entities, capabilities, collaboration opportunities, and sector trends.
Through different knowledge areas, the Knowledge Center – HBP enables users to explore the health sector in an integrated way, follow its evolution, and access relevant resources to support innovation and the development of new opportunities.
Organised into three areas
Sector Information
It brings together data, statistics, and strategic information on the health sector in Portugal, enabling an understanding of its scale and evolution. This area also provides an overview of the main institutional stakeholders in Portugal’s health innovation ecosystem.
Innovation Ecosystem
It provides tools to explore and analyse Portugal’s health innovation ecosystem. Through a catalogue of more than 1,000 entities, it enables the identification of organisations, capabilities, areas of specialisation, and services that drive innovation in the country. In addition, it offers interactive indicators that allow an overall analysis of the main characteristics, trends, and capabilities of that ecosystem.
Support for the Innovation Journey
It brings together specialised resources such as reports, newsletters, brochures, and white papers, a services catalogue, and information on the main funding sources that support entities across the different stages of innovation. This set of resources facilitates access to knowledge, technical support, and development opportunities suited to different maturity levels.
Sector Information
Health in Portugal by the Numbers

Public Funding
Learn about the main public funding instruments available and explore them according to the different Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs). This structure makes it easier to identify the instruments best suited to your organisation’s maturity level and current needs.
