Medical tourism involved non-residents travelling to a destination country primarily to receive medical, diagnostic or therapeutic care. Therefore, we are talking about interventions or procedures in the field of biomedicine that are carried out in hospitals and clinics using medicines and medical devices. This project was the result of HCP's commitment to 'affirming Portugal as a destination for high-quality medical tourism, integrating excellent hospitals and hotels that guarantee the best level of medical care, as well as opportunities for convalescence and recovery, in an attractive and welcoming environment'.

The main objective was promoting Portugal in international markets as a medical tourism destination to significantly increase the provision of medical services in this new business area.
