Health Business Portugal (HBP) acts as a facilitator and mobiliser, identifying and promoting the country’s installed capacity and its operation within networks, while continuously engaging with and monitoring trends and priority investment areas.

Supported by a dedicated team from Health Cluster Portugal, the Health Business Portugal (HBP) acts as a facilitator and mobilizer, identifying and promoting the country’s installed capacity and its networked operation, while continuously monitoring trends and strategic priority areas.

In this context, HBP pursues the following objectives:

- Identify needs, map competencies and resources to promote access to better and more favorable conditions;
- Centralize and facilitate access to information and services for health business development;
- Promote open innovation and knowledge valorization with a strong business and international orientation;
- Foster the introduction of high value-added products and services into the market;
- Monitor continuously the health ecosystem in Portugal;
- Promote national and international partnerships, as well as joint ventures.

To achieve these objectives, HBP is continuously mapping health innovation stakeholders in Portugal, while structuring a catalog of support services for the development of health products. In this way, it guides innovators and companies in identifying specialized support in the following areas:

- Solution development
- Business model development and market entry
- Knowledge valorization and technology transfer
- Clinical definition, testing, and validation
- Certification of medical devices, in vitro diagnostic devices, and SaaS
- Prototyping and product industrialization
- Identification and access to funding mechanisms and instruments
- Training and capacity building
