Digit-Pre
DIGIT-PRE was an innovation programme that provided specialised services and access to living labs and test beds, supporting the demonstration, experimentation, and validation of innovative digital health solutions. The programme helped accelerate the adoption of digital health technologies by fostering connections between companies, end users, and innovation ecosystems, and by supporting the development of solutions that are more effective, secure, and aligned with market and citizen needs.
About
Within the context of the digital transformation of health and care, the European DIGIT-PRE project aimed to launch and consolidate a sustainable value network across the European Union. The project promoted value creation through coordinated business support activities, strengthening the competitiveness and sustainability of companies operating in the digital health sector.
With a specific focus on consumer-oriented mHealth applications and devices, DIGIT-PRE addressed solutions for prevention, prediction, and remote care, responding to the emerging needs of consumers and patients in a post-COVID environment. The initiative contributed to improving the health and well-being of European citizens, while simultaneously reinforcing the competitiveness of SMEs and companies active in the digital health ecosystem.
By placing particular emphasis on prevention, prediction, and tertiary remote care, and by integrating consumer and patient preferences—including challenges and opportunities related to the silver economy—the project sought to reduce pressure on healthcare systems and their workforce.
Health Cluster Portugal was a member of the consortium, alongside nine other European regional ecosystems, which together provided five complementary innovation clusters and competitive value chains to support the development and adoption of digital health solutions.
